I was born and raised in the potato state, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. From the time I was little, I knew working with children was my passion. Therefore, I pursued a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and obtained my Masters in Elementary Education as well. Before moving to Tucson in 2012, I was prior military and spent seven years in Okinawa, Japan. While overseas I had the pleasure of working with both military and local students, which validated my interest and love for children and education.
I have been married to my husband for 12 years, and we have three beautiful children: Conner, Ethan, and McKenna. Conner is in 6th grade, Ethan is in 4th, and McKenna is in kindergarten. Our family loves sports, especially soccer, which both boys play and we enjoy any outdoor activity. Some of my favorite hobbies are pottery, spending time with family, playing sports, and reading.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know each student and parents or guardians. As it always fascinates me the level of diversity within the class and cannot wait for students to share their individual experiences, background, and culture because it will continue to help develop our class in a community. My goal is to make each day fun and interesting so that students maintain motivation to acquire the knowledge they need to succeed. Each student will learn through practical application. As I believe that the purpose of education is to teach future generations basic skills to lead the world. This will be my second year teaching and I cannot be more excited!
