Hello Families! I have lived in the Vail area for the past 13 years. I am married to my wonderful husband and we have two beautiful daughters, Katie (9) and Hailey (7). I grew up in California and attended San Diego State University where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies and completed my graduate work in the Teacher Credential Program. I have spent most of my professional career teaching in the primary grade levels with seven years spent in the First and Second Grades. This will be my seventh year at Sycamore in a third-grade classroom. I love the work I do and get great satisfaction in watching my students grow.
While at Sycamore I have had the opportunity to be on the leadership team. I am the Instructional Team Leader for third grade and this allows me to grow not only as an educator but also as a leader. I am also a Math, Reading, and Cognitive Coach, who helps to assist new teachers in the transition of the rewarding world of teaching in all subject areas. In addition to leadership, I am the advisor for Peace Patrol. Peace Patrol helps students remain safe on campus while transitioning from our MPR to the playground. We also work on leadership skills and positive reinforcement.
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors. Some of my favorite outdoor activities include running, hiking, biking, riding quads and the Rhino, and going to different festivals. One of my favorite hobbies includes baking, especially cookies. I love having my little helpers in the kitchen with me and teaching them the fun they can have with cooking.
