Patricia Dorgan

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, then my family and I moved to Maryland. We returned to Arizona when I was 13, and I graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson. A few years after that, I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from The University of Arizona. Then I went back to school and earned my Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University, as well as my Reading Specialist Certification. I accepted my first teaching position eighteen years ago in the Vail School District. I spent my first year teaching 2nd Grade at Acacia Elementary and then the last seventeen years have been here at Sycamore Elementary. I taught 7 years in 2nd Grade before teaching 6 years in 3rd Grade. Then I spent 3 years as a Reading Specialist as a Title One Reading Teacher. Finally, I returned to teach in 2nd Grade, and am now in my 3rd year teaching the grade level that I love.

My daughter, Candace, graduated from Andrada Polytechnic High School and went to school in the Vail School District since pre-school. Needless to say, I really enjoy the Vail Community, and have had wonderful opportunities over the years. I strive to teach every child to work to the best of their abilities. I also work hard to ensure that each child feels successful and is provided with a wonderful learning experience.
