I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, then my family and I moved to Maryland. We returned to Arizona when I was 13, and I graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson. A few years after that, I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from The University of Arizona. Then I went back to school and earned my Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University, as well as my Reading Specialist Certification. I have been with the Vail School District since 2003. I spent my first year teaching at Acacia Elementary before coming here to open Sycamore. I taught 2nd and 3rd Grade for several years and then taught in the Title One Reading Program before returning to 2nd Grade, where I am now in my 4th year teaching the grade level that I love.
My daughter, Candace, went to school in the Vail School District since pre-school. She graduated from Andrada Polytechnic High School. Needless to say, I really enjoy the Vail Community, and have had wonderful opportunities over the years. I strive to teach every child to work to the best of their abilities. I also work hard to ensure that each child feels successful and is provided with a wonderful learning experience.
