I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and I have known since junior high that I wanted to become a teacher. I am a proud product of the Amphitheater School District and graduated from Canyon del Oro High School in 1999. I attended Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. Upon returning to Tucson, I started my teaching career in 3rd grade. I have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades along with P.E.
2020-2021 found me returning to school (online) and receiving my master’s degree in Adapted PE from the University of South Carolina. Adapted PE has always been an interest of mine and I am excited to see how I can best utilize my new knowledge to benefit all the students at Sycamore Elementary.
Elementary P.E. is my true passion because I can share my love for activity and nutrition with your children everyday. My goals are to show students that there are a variety of ways to be physically active; to help them understand that eating healthy is fun, tasty, and important; and to show them that sports are a great way to learn how to work with and treat others. Finally, P.E. enables me to create positive relationships with all of our students. I hope through my teaching, the students find a way to remain healthy and active for their entire lives.
