Marisa Guagliardo

Hello Sycamore Elementary Family! My name is Marisa Guagliardo and I will be a new first-grade teacher in the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. I am overjoyed and excited to start this new journey and to get to know everyone in this wonderful school and community.

I am originally from Arlington Heights, Illinois. This is a suburb about 30 minutes from the city of Chicago. I lived there my whole life until just last year, my family relocated to Tucson, Arizona. I stayed in Illinois to finish my degree at Illinois State University, where I worked hard to earn a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in ELL (English Language Learner). This summer I will join my family in Tucson and begin my journey at Sycamore Elementary teaching first grade!

My time at Illinois State University has given me many different experiences working with children of all backgrounds and ages. As an educator, I have made it my goal to serve the children, families, and communities of this world. It is also my goal to create a nurturing, inclusive and challenging learning environment that will allow children to succeed in every way.

I look forward to meeting you and having a wonderful year in first grade!
