I am extremely excited to be starting my fourth year here at Sycamore! This will be my ninth year teaching; the first 5 in second grade, and 4 in fifth. I absolutely love what I do! My goal is to inspire students and to help them learn and grow.
I was born and raised in Sierra Vista, Arizona. At the age of 17, I graduated high school in only three years and made my way up to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona. In May of 2013, I graduated and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I moved back to Sierra Vista to teach in the same school that I attended as an elementary student. To make things even more interesting, I taught second grade in the same classroom that I was in when I was in second grade. Ironically enough, my second grade teacher was my inspiration for pursuing a teaching career. 🙂 She was a great inspiration to me, and I wish to be the same for my students. Three years into my career, I decided to further my education and pursue a Master’s degree. In April of 2017, I obtained my Master’s degree in Educational Administration.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, baking and cooking. I have a three year old niece, and most of my free time is spent spoiling her. 🙂
