I moved to Tucson when I was three months old, and for all intents and purposes, I am a native Tucsonan. My mom, dad, 2 sisters, and I have seen Tucson change and grow in many ways.

I enjoyed my education through the TUSD schools of Ford Elementary, Carson Middle, and Santa Rita High School. After high school, I went to the University of Arizona and graduated May 1995.

My husband, Cory and I have been married 24 years and are the proud parents of four great kids. All four of our kids attended Sycamore, starting in 2004!! I’ve been around these walkways for a long time. Our three oldest Ashleigh, Jenna & Hannah, are all graduates of Empire High School. Our youngest, Tanner will begin his Senior year (oh my) at Empire High School in July 2020. We love traveling, reading and spending time together with our kids.

I began substitute teaching in the Vail School District when Tanner started at Sycamore. A few years before that, one July day, I sat with Tanner & Hannah in the MPR as her kindergarten class didn’t have a sub, the roads were flooded and no one could get to Sycamore! I thought, well I could do that.. Thus began my substitute days! I worked as a substitute teacher for 9 years, the majority of those years, at Sycamore. In that time I covered every grade level and specialty area classroom.

2020/2021 will be my 4th year teaching full time. I love teaching 2nd graders, for me they are the perfect age!

I believe in a classroom based on respect: respect for ourselves, each other and the ability to learn – no matter our circumstances. I work with intent to build positive relationships with my students and their families. I understand the nuances of being a parent in Vail. I am thankful for the opportunity I have to teach at Sycamore Elementary and to be a part of this amazing community.
