I was born and raised in Long Island, New York. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in General and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College. I continued my studies at Long Island University and earned a Master’s degree in Literacy Education. My husband and I moved to Vail, Arizona ten years ago.
I am really excited to be part of the Sycamore team. This will be my sixth year at Sycamore, and eleventh year in Vail. Before moving to Vail, I worked as a Special Education teacher for three years in an elementary school on Long Island. I have worked as a cognitive coach and math coach, helping to train new teachers in the classroom, while at Sycamore. I am also proud to be the advisor for Sycamore’s Stinger Store.
My classroom goals are to meet the needs of all my learners, for my students to feel supported, and for my students to know that it is ok to take risks. I believe that every child has the ability to achieve their dreams. Through team work, collaboration, and hard work, anything is possible.
When I am not teaching, I am having fun with my four boys (11, 8, 5, 2). We are a big sports family, especially baseball. We love the zoo, playing outside, and just going out and having fun together. They sure keep me busy.
I look forward to an exciting year full of learning and fun.
